We have just returned from this hotel and have to say the stay was disappointing! There were some really good things, like the Breakfast choices and we had dinner one night and the waiter was great and the food lovely, although very expensive. The views from the restaurant are amazing. However they need to get the basics right! We asked for a plug for the bathroom sink (standard item we thought to run a bowl of water!) and after asking a second time were told that they don't provide plugs due to flooding risk! Company policy! But they could send a bowl up to our room for us. This "bowl" arrived. It was an empty food container!!!! the next morning we went to use the towels which were stored under the sink, to find they were dripping wet as the sink was leaking underneath. The "bowl" came in handy to put under the leak!!! So went to reception on our way out and told them about the leak and the wet towels. Asked for it to be fixed and the room to be cleaned. You have to request room cleaning daily if you want it. this is supposed to be for environmental reasons, although it it clearly ok to waste water letting it run while you use the sink?? Arrived back late afternoon to find the leak fixed and the towels still on the floor! spoke to reception, new towels were sent up but spent ages to persuade housekeeping to take the dirty ones away. Next day, asked at reception for the room to be cleaned. Came back, nothing done again. Spoke to reception, who was actually very helpful and understood my frustration and gave me the name of the Guest Relations manager and suggested I spoke to her the next morning. Clean towels delivered one with a large stain clearly visible. Spoke to DAAN, one of the managers the next morning who was lovely and very apologetic. We all understand things can go wrong but this was one thing after another. He organised for our airport transfer for us and our friends for the next day free of charge. So that was good. Said he would ensure our room was cleaned and that he would come back to me. He didn't but our room was cleaned and a standard VIP guest letter left in our room with a bowl of fruit (also the same in our friends room). Bearing in mind we were leaving early the next morning, not a lot of good to us! After all our problems I would have expected that to be a personalised letter and it would have been a nice gesture to have maybe a bottle of wine or an item of hotel merchandise (water bottle for example) left in our room for us.

Amazing hotel, very helpful staff especially Omar, fantastic with recommendations where to visit etc they highly recommended the canal cruise and wow, definitely worth it. Main purpose of the visit was the tulip festival, I highly recommend Breakfast was fantastic with varied choice. Coffee was amazing! Location of hotel was brilliant with easy links to the town and airport. Highly recommend and would visit again

My stay at the Leonardo Hotel was amazing especially being greeted by Chantal and accommodated myself and my sister throughout our stay. She has been helpful and informative. She’s made stay enjoyable and special. I will definitely come back.

Poor, unclean, hairs and pubes on bed and old blood stains!

It was a really disappointing stay overall! We were there for 3 nights. The day we arrived we asked the reception if they could clean our room again because there was old gone off fruit still in the fridge, hairs all over the bed and pillows and an old stain of some kind! They did make up the beds again, but when we got back from our day out we noticed that the sheets had been clearly washed with tissue paper (accidentally I’m sure) so there were flakes of tissue over the bed sheets and an old blood stain!! We went down to reception again and complained and spoke to their guest relations manager and she did apologise and say she would have it cleaned for us again and that she would check it personally herself! When we got back from another day out, the first thing I noticed was still the same packets of gone off fruit (which we left out on the table to make it very easy for them to dispose of) and a pube on the bed!! We were not happy! The reason we were also so keen of things to be clean was due to the fact we had our 3 month old baby with us. At this point we thought it’s not worth mentioning we weren’t happy for a third time because clearly their standards of cleanliness is poor and that wasn’t going to change! They did give us a complimentary breakfast on our last morning but I’d rather have had a clean room! It’s also worth mentioning that the first time we complained we had the cleaners come to our room at around 8/9pm but instead of knocking and waiting for a reply, they used their key card to enter to room!! I had to shout from inside that we were in there! My baby woke up which was another annoyance! I wouldn’t recommend staying here!

Overall the experience was lovely! The staff were very helpful and friendly, the hotel was clean and comfortable. The pillows & bed were sooo comfy!! Only slight issue was that my friend got stuck in the hotel lift - however the hotel were extremely reassuring and offered complimentary breakfast, will definitely be coming back.
